No New Peugeot-Citroën Plant For Slovakia

PSA Peugeot-Citroën has indicated that it will not build the additional SKK13.4bn production line that it planned the construct in Trnava.The change of heart is unsurprising. BMI believes Slovakia is reaching its full manufacturing potential, requiring the carmaker to import foreign workers from Poland and Czech Republic to make up for the country's skills shortage. Slovakia's total production capacity is expected to reach 900,000 units per annum by the end of the decade on the basis of the current plans for the Volkswagen, Peugeot-Citroën and Hyundai/Kia plants.
