Honda Gives UK A Boost

When BMW announced it was transferring production of the new Mini away from Brazil and into the UK, the country's chancellor, Gordon Brown, hailed the move as a 'great day for Britain'. The move, he said, reflected "the continuing vitality of the UK motor industry" and that Britain could become "the home of world-class manufacturing". Now, the UK has received yet another significant boost to its automotive industry, and would appear to be firmly on the way to fulfilling Mr Brown's vision, with the announcement that Honda is to increase productivity, and its workforce at its Swindon plant in Wiltshire.
