'Milestone' Agreement Boosts Chinese Car Imports To Chile
September 2006 | Market Trend AnalysisChile and China have concluded a historic free trade agreement, which looks set to give Chinese vehicles a greater foothold in the Chilean market. In accordance with the new trade pact, Chile will enjoy a 92% tax break on its exports to China, while duties on Chinese machines and vehicles will be cut from the current 6% to zero. The move will clearly boost the competitiveness of Chinese models on the Chilean market.
