Seat Bosses Negotiate Marque's Future
August 2006 | Company News AlertSpanish financial daily Expansión reports that Seat bosses are locked in talks with parent company Volkswagen over plans that could prove decisive for the Spanish marque's future. Seat bosses are seeking to convince Volkswagen of the need to expand Seat's product range if the company is to definitively emerge from the financial crisis that saw more than one thousand workers lose their jobs in 2005, and Seat hit with heavy losses. Seat is bidding to re-launch itself as a manufacturer for the general public, moving away from its current image as an exclusively sporty brand.
