DaimlerChrysler Transfers Production of Mercedes-Benz Sports Coupé to Brazil
July 2006 | Company News AlertDaimlerChrysler has announced it is to transfer production of the Mercedes-Benz C-Class Sports Coupé from Germany to Brazil. The decision is seen as a bid to save the plant in Juiz de Fora (south-east Brazil), which has struggled since 1998 when it began operating. Both trade unions and local government have welcomed the plans. It is hoped that some 1,100 jobs will be saved, and many more generated in the region.
