Volkswagen Earmarks Investment of US$400mn for Plant in Mexico
July 2006 | FDI AlertVolkswagen Mexico is to invest US$400mn during the period 2006 - 2007 to finish updating its facilities in Puebla. The plant, with a production capacity of 400,000 units per year, is already something of a jewel in Volkswagen's crown and the German manufacturer sees Puebla as one of its strongest production bases in the region. In the period January - June 2006 VW Mexico produced some 31,922 units of which it exported 29,386 units.
