August 2006 | Business Environment OutlookThere is no change in places for Singapore in BMI's updated Business Environment Ranking for the automotive industry, as the country retains fourth place, although the composite score has risen slightly to 37 thanks to an improved political risk rating. Despite a lack of domestic production in the automotive industry, a relatively low vehicle ownership rate and an ideal location to act as a regional hub make Singapore attractive to would-be investors. The business environment is also the least corrupt in Asia, according to Transparency
