Shanghai VW To Import Skodas
July 2006 | Project NewsShanghai Volkswagen is in talks to acquire the import rights to the Czech Skoda brand. The rights are currently held by China's C&F Investment, which has been importing Skoda vehicles since 1999. The move is seen as a further attempt by Shanghai VW to claw back some of the market share lost to Shanghai General Motors in 2005, by expanding the VW group portfolio in China.
