Parts Manufacturers Head East
July 2006 | FDI AlertBelgian and German parts manufacturers are ramping up investment in components plants in Hungary and Russia. Belgian auto parts maker Thyco has begun construction of a plant in the Nyíregyháza Industrial Park, in northeast Hungary. With an initial investment of HUF140mn, the plant is expected to expand over the next three to four years. The manufacturer is also moving its quality control centre to the site from Belgium. The plant will employ 50-100 people and will start production by the end of 2006. Over the past three years, the company has signed supplier agreements with six companies based near Nyíregyháza,
