Nigeria Surpasses Forecasts
July 2006 | Industry ForecastAccording to recently published figures, the Nigerian automotive production grew by 6.3% in 2005 to 11,900 units. This was 400 units more than BMI had estimated in our Q1 2006 quarterly report. Sales growth was also higher at 4.7%, above BMI's estimate of 3.3%. The better-than-expected rise in output and sales is related to the take up of a government scheme to boost car ownership among state employees
