GM Investment in Spanish Plant Totals EUR550mn

GM's investment in its Figueruelas plant in Zaragoza, Spain comes to a head this week with the launch of the new Opel Corsa. The company has invested EUR550mn over two years to give the facility a considerable face-lift. The plant has an output of more than 400,000 units a year and employs some 7,600 workers. Under the investment two new Large Progressive Press tools were installed, optimising production. Output was also improved at a new finishing plant where vehicles were given greater protection against environmental damage and corrosion.
