Volkswagen Labour Conflict In Spain Continues
July 2006 | Company News AlertThe employment conflict at Volkswagen's plant in Navarre, Spain remains shrouded in uncertainty, 19 months after management and trade unions initiated talks aimed at concluding a new labour agreement. With the survival of the plant in the balance, both sides have dug their feet in over management proposals for lower pay and a 'more flexible' working week. As employees at the plant returned to work this week, observers were decidedly downbeat about the chances of a resolution being reached before the next holiday period in August.
