GM Sees June Revival

US carmaker General Motors has recorded a 4.6% y-o-y increase in sales for June in Canada, finally providing some hope for the manufacturer in its own region. The passenger segment led the way with growth of 15% to 24,435 units, although truck sales were down 5.4% from June 2005 at 20,872 units. Within the total, the Chevrolet brand registered growth of 25%, while Pontiac sales were up by 18% y-o-y. In the high-end segment, Cadillac sales were up 7% and the Saab brand up 28% for a monthly sales record.
