Ups And Downs For VW Brazil
May 2006 | Company Finance AlertVolkswagen owns five Brazilian plants in Sao Paulo, Rio de Janeiro and Parana, with a combined annual production capacity of over 1mn units. In 2005 the company produced 645,000 vehicles, of which 266,000 were exported. In terms of sales, VW took second place overall, securing a 23.27% market share from sales of 379,600 vehicles. The company led the 'Vehicles for mixed usage' segment with sales of 310,50 units.
