May 2006 | Market Trend AnalysisWhile the bus market has been in decline since mid-2005, Pakistan's automotive market was generally buoyant in the latest, second-half 2005 period reported by PAMA. Car sales rose by 24.6% y-o-y, and truck and LCV sales both by 40.0%. Total bus sales during the July-December 2005 period totalled 454 units, down from 684 units in the same period a year earlier, following the suspension of a public transport subsidy scheme and operators' difficulties in meeting fuel price increases. Hinopak held a commanding share of the bus market with 309 of 454 units registered, followed by Isuzu (98), Nissan (20), Dong
