Profile of Magyar Suzuki
March 2006 | Company SpotlightHungary's leading carmaker, Japan's Suzuki, operates through local subsidiary Magyar Suzuki. Established in 1991, Magyar Suzuki produces vehicles locally at its 35,000m2 plant in Esztergom. Production began with the Swift sedan, before the Wagon R+ and the Ignis joined the line-up in 2000 and 2003 respectively. The Ignis is also exported to Poland, where it was launched with the aim of cutting back the Polish unit's losses. Magyar Suzuki invested HUF20bn in the launch of the Ignis.
