Breaking Ground On A New Era

News of Bahrain's first ever car plant has prompted BMI to revise its forecasts. We anticipate that the plant will reach annual capacity of 60,000 units by 2008. We believe that 80-85% of output will be exported, in addition to re-exports. Consequently, the autos trade balance will go from a deficit of US$582mn in 2005 peaking at a surplus of US$272mn in 2008, before a moderate fall to US$260mn by 2010 as output stays at around
