GM Hummer Rolls Into South Africa
March 2006 | Product LaunchUS carmaker General Motors has announced that South Africa will be its principle export base for the Hummer H3, as its aims for each country to specialise in certain models. GM South Africa (GMSA) was awarded a contract to produce the H3 for export to Europe, the Middle East and Africa in 2005 and subsequently invested US$100mn in expanding its Port Elizabeth plant to accommodate the project.
