DaimlerChrysler Likely To Keep Smart Brand
March 2006 | Company Finance AlertGerman-US carmaker DaimlerChrysler has revealed that its Smart brand, which has not made a profit since its launch in 1998, should break even in 2007. DaimlerChrysler Chief Financial Officer Bodo Uebber confirmed that the brand's losses had been reduced in 2005 from the EUR600mn reported in 2004, through a series of job and cost cutting, as well as trimming back the division's product range.
