Plastic Parts Set To Outperform Production Growth

The market for automotive plastics in Mexico grew by close to 60% year-on-year (y-o-y), to 177mn units in 2011, making it a market worth US$4bn, according to estimates from the Mexican National Association of Plastics Industries (ANIPAC). Going forward, BMI sees significant room for growth in the sector on the back of large-scale automotive investments in the country and the weight-reduction technologies being employed by original equipment manufacturers (OEMs).
