Truck Strike Reverses Cautious Optimism Towards Production
January 2012 | Industry NewsThe week-long nationwide truck strike in Italy that crippled autos production at all of Fiat's five domestic plants is likely to affect Italy's attempts to retain autos investments in the country. Estimates from the country's autos association, Anfia, show that car production in Italy declined nearly 15% year-on-year (y-o-y), to 455,631 units, between January and November 2011, mainly as the dominant carmaker battled with losing market share in Europe and with the uphill task of reaching new labour agreements to make its production in Italy economically
