Japanese Losses Become Chinese Gains, But Can This Be Maintained?

The acceptability of Chinese brands among Chilean consumers is on the rise, as is evident from an increase in their market share to 12.7% in 2011 - up from a just over 6% share reported in 2010, according to estimates from the National Automotive Association of Chile (ANAC). Industry sources revealed that these companies not only benefitted from record vehicle sales in Chile during 2011, but also from an improvement in their overall reputation for technology and quality.
