Regional Safe Havens Help BMW To Record Year

BMI's view that the UAE and Saudi Arabia will be the relative safe havens for vehicle sales amid ongoing unrest elsewhere in the region has been further supported by BMW Group Middle East's results for 2011. Total sales rose 9% year-on-year (y-o-y), which was far less robust than the 26% reported by the local unit of Audi, but its sales volume of 18,657 BMW and Mini vehicles dwarfed the 7,865 units sold by its rival.
