Low Car Ownership Creates Potential
December 2011 | BMI Industry ViewAfter three years of contraction, the automobile industry in Gabon looks poised for an impressive rebound in the form of 30% y-o-y growth in 2011. As is the case in most of its regional peers, the market is characterised by very low vehicle ownership levels, leaving significant room for growth over the coming years. We are accordingly forecasting average growth of 10% y-o-y between 2012 and 2016, which should represent sales of 8,316 cars a year by the end of the forecast period.
