Chinese truck manufacturer Foton Motor has put its KES4bn investment project on hold as it waits to see the outcome of a tenancy dispute with its former partner Marshalls East Africa. The involvement of the police in the dispute has raised concerns over the business environment in Kenya, which BMI believes has the potential to become an autos hub for East Africa, if not the wider sub-Saharan region.
