GM Carbon Fibre Deal Could Be Breakthrough For Volume Segment

In line with BMI's core view that carmakers will form partnerships to develop new technologies and materials in order to meet new regulations, General Motors Company (GM) has joined forces with Japan's Teijin to develop new carbon fibre technology. If the project is successful and GM can incorporate the material into its high-volume models as intended, it would be a breakthrough, as the high cost of current carbon fibre production methods means its use is restricted to the premium
