Toyota's New Models Bring Some Certainty For Production Industry

Toyota Motor has made positive assurances to its Australian unit that it will maintain a production presence in the country, underlined by the launch of the most recent Camry sedan. Vehicle production in Australia has been plagued by setbacks for a number of years and just three months ago, Toyota Australia itself said that labour tensions could impact its export potential. However, while BMI expects total vehicle production to end 2011 down by around 10% year-on-year (y-o-y), Toyota's optimism for 2012 matches our own more positive outlook of a return to average annual output growth in the region of 6%
