Transit Schemes Create Bus Production Opportunities
November 2011 | Industry NewsThe City of Johannesburg's mayoral committee is studying the viability of buses being locally built for Phase 1B of the Rea Vaya bus rapid transit (BRT) project. Rather than this being a one-off order, the spread of such BRT programmes around the country means the national government is looking to build the domestic bus industry, which will sell 32% fewer buses in 2011 compared with 2010, according to BMI forecasts.
