Production Capacity Will Increase Slowly But Surely

Vietnam's vehicle production industry is one of the smallest among the member states of the Association of South East Asian Nations (ASEAN) and has attracted less investment than its larger peers. Underinvestment in the supplier segment has made carmakers wary of setting up shop and vice versa. However, investment in both vehicle and parts capacity in the year so far suggests Vietnam will slowly build on its production capabilities and contribute to a stronger ASEAN autos sector on the whole as a result.
