Parts Makers Want More Development Before Full Trade With India
November 2011 | Industry NewsAutomotive part makers in Pakistan have been assured of some level of protection as the country prepares to increase its trade ties with India. Rather than dismiss cooperation with the much bigger Indian auto sector altogether, however, the industry wants to collaborate to improve its own efficiency and economies of scale. Vehicle production in Pakistan is less than 300,000 units per year, compared with BMI's forecast for Indian vehicle output to finish the financial year ending March 2012 at 4.2mn units.
