Quest Car Assembly Underlines Chinese Investment View

Zimbabwe's Quest Motors Manufacturing will begin assembly of two Chinese models in 2012, as it looks to compete with the burgeoning second-hand car market. The company has invested US$4mn in retooling its plant to accommodate the new models, which will start to arrive in kit form in late November and December. Local assembly of the Chery Tiggo SUV and an unnamed model from Jiangling Motors Corp is further evidence of BMI's view that Chinese companies are taking a serious interest in Sub-Saharan
