Uzbekistan's Autos To Lose Out In Trade Row
November 2011 | Industry NewsUzbekistan will receive a severe blow to its export-led autos production, as Ukraine has restricted Uzbek-made vehicle imports to only three vehicles a year for the next three years. BMI believes that the Uzbekistan-based joint venture of US' General Motors Company, for which Ukraine is the second biggest market, after Russia, will be a significant loser as a result of Ukraine's action. In a longer-term perspective, we believe such trade disputes will reduce Uzbekistan's attractiveness as a destination for new autos investments.
