The outlook for Australian new car sales has darkened as we pass the mid-point of 2011. A combination of poorer-than-expected economic statistics, adverse weather conditions and perceived 'anti-car' policies from Canberra (notably the planned new carbon tax) are conspiring to lower new car sales.
