Chinese Carmaker's Entry Into Gulf Faces Challenges

BMI's view that volume car brands are growing in popularity in the markets of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) could be tested by the arrival of a Chinese passenger car. Although Chinese brands have been gaining a foothold in the commercial vehicle segment, this will be their first car in the region. It will be launched by Zhengzhou Nissan Automobile (ZNA), a joint venture between Japan's Nissan Motor and China's Dongfeng Motor Group, and sold by Nissan's own local distributor, AW Rostamani Trading.
