BMI Convinced Demand Growth Has Peaked
September 2011 | Industry Trend AnalysisUsed car sales in Argentina grew by almost 22% year-on-year (y-o-y), to 1.2mn units, between January and August 2011, according to estimates from the country's Automobile Chamber of Commerce (CCC). Much of the increase in the used car market is being attributed to a shortage of new vehicles. BMI expects this to lead to significant price increases in both the used and the new vehicle segments, which strengthens our view that the ongoing rally in the domestic autos market is unsustainable.
