Ukrainian Ties Could Bring Much Needed Investment

As part of the strengthening trade ties between the two countries, during a visit to Lagos the Ukrainian ambassador to Nigeria, Valery Vasyliev, has announced plans to build a vehicle assembly plant in the country. Nigeria's vehicle production segment has been in need of foreign investment for some time to help fulfil its potential. Nigerian vehicle output fell by over 30% in both 2008 and 2009 and it will take time to recover from such a setback.
