Malaysia's Still Got Pulling Power

While Thailand and Indonesia have been in the spotlight as regional hubs in South East Asia, Malaysia has won two new projects within a week to keep its own position as a vehicle production hub alive. Although both projects will involve assembly from completely knocked down (CKD) kits, they will create opportunities for the local supplier segment as localisation is a key feature of the investments. BMI believes this is one of the most important factors in developing a production hub.
