Labour disputes at Toyota Motor's operations in Venezuela over the past two weeks (starting from July 28) have renewed our fears about the difficult operating environment for businesses in country. Thanks to the government's interference in the sector, the ongoing threat of socialist reforms and the difficulty in obtaining dollars for parts import, Venezuela is already in last position of BMI's Risk-Reward ratings for the autos industry in the Americas. However, we fear that the latest problems could not only drag down its score further, but could also impede any recovery in vehicle production and sales in the country after
