Mitsubishi Faces Power Struggle In Bid To Lead Electric Vehicle Market

However, the company is already facing an obstacle in finding sufficient supplies of lithium-ion batteries to power its expanding range of EVs and plug-in hybrids. As it looks for alternative sources, it is also considering South Korean producers, in what BMI sees as a trend of Korean companies winning business from Japanese rivals.
