BMI's View On Mexican Diversification Begins To Take Shape
April 2011 | Industry Trend AnalysisQ111 figures released by the Mexican auto industry association AMIA reveal that the country's vehicle production increased 21% year-on-year (y-o-y), to 632,914 units, on the back of a 19% y-o-y rise in exports during the same period. More significant, however, is the fact that this strong growth was led by increased demand from Latin America, which overtook Canada as Mexico's second largest export market during Q111.
