Domestic Carmakers Buoyed By Overseas Markets

South Korea's five domestic carmakers posted stronger growth in overseas sales in February 2011, which is a reflection of the saturated nature of their home market. The industry will also be fighting rising interest rates, as a hike in January 2011 is likely to impact sales in the earlier months of the year, prompting BMI to forecast domestic sales growth of around 3.5% in 2011, compared with 5.1% in 2010.
