Yamaha Reduces European Presence To Focus On Emerging Markets

Japanese motorcycle manufacturer Yamaha Motors plans to close its factory in Barcelona and consolidate much of its European production at its Saint-Quentin plant in northern France. Given that Yamaha expects US and the European motorcycle demand to remain sluggish, BMI believes the company will focus on high-growth markets, with the emerging markets of Asia and Latin America to be a priority.
