Brazilian Currency Strength May Prove Headache For Fiat-Chrysler

Fiat-Chrysler CEO Sergio Marchionne has warned that appreciation of the Brazilian real could prove a major setback for the company's growth plans in Latin America. Although Chrysler itself has no plans for production and exports in Brazil, the market is a key investment destination for its parent company Fiat, which plans to invest nearly BRL3bn (US$1.77bn) towards building a new manufacturing plant in the Brazilian state of Pernambuco.
