Replacement For Renault Van Brings Optimism To Auto Manufacturing
March 2011 | Company News AlertRisks to a shift in auto manufacturing from the UK have been mitigated, at least for the short and medium term, thanks to General Motors Company (GM)'s plans to replace Renault Trafic van production with that of its next generation of the Vivaro at its Vauxhall factory in Luton. With the announcement, GM becomes the second carmaker to reaffirm its commitment to manufacturing in the country, after UK carmaker Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) reversed its decision to close down one of its three plants in the UK in October 2011.
